Siddhartha University is the first and the only Buddhist University of Nepal. It is supported by Buddhist Bhikkhus and common Nepalese people undertaking the responsibility for the success of this Buddhist University as well as by the people of Nepal, becomes a matter of pride and prestige of this country.

The Siddhartha University ground located at this virgin and serene mountain forest at Nala is considered a very suitable place for all those who come from various parts of the world to study and to research on, and it would be a convenient place especially for the local inhabitants to study, teach and engage in other related activities. Being located on top of a hill, the place is sunny morning till evening, airy and pollution-free. Therefore, this place is beautiful, peaceful and conductive to health. From top of this hill one can see Kathmandu Valley towards the north, forest hills of Nala toward the east and lush green crop fields, Banepa town, Sanga hills and a panorama of other hills beyond towards the south. Himalayan snow peaks can also be observed at eh north-west and north-east directions. Trekkers from Nagarkot, a well tourist spot, also pass through this site.

Real and substantial steps towards the realization of these goals are now being taken in the homeland of Siddhartha. Siddhartha University is a global ecumenical educational institution founded to promote multi-cultural education and constructive inter-cultural relations in Nepal and abroad. It has been located in a place where the people are engaged in farming and in various pursuits, in educational and so on. The population of Nala, Banepa, Dhulikhel, Panauti, and Bhaktapur are the people who believe in Buddhism and other religions. In Nepal, there are Buddhist groups representing various traditions or cultures including Burmese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Sri Lankan, Thai and Tibetan.
